Coco's advent Day 4: Fashion in the South of France...

Hello lovelies!

The winter weather always make me feel a bit blue (as does a Monday morning), so sometimes when I'm feeling flat rather than festive, I like to look back at some of the fun things I've done this year, which also makes me feel happier about what I have planned in the coming year!  So day 4 of Coco's advent is just that, I'm throwing back to Cannes in the summer with a few outfit posts, and a few shop windows for some visual merchandising to boot.  If you close your eyes, you can almost feel the sun on your skin...

Outfit 1: Can't beat a good ol' dungaree

When we travel to the South of France in August, it's always HOT!  These photos were taken on a day exploring Nice, and I swear that the South of France is the only place I go to where I would dare show that much leg; needs must in the heat!  These dungarees were around £30 from H 'n' M this year (after my Primark ones died the year before, I like to think that they're in dungaree heaven).  Teamed with a Vivienne Westwood neckerchief (used as a headscarf), Tiffany sunglasses, a little Primark tee and my New Balance trainers (and lots of suncream!) this was my perfect outfit for adventuring, whilst keeping cool at the same time!

Outfit 2: A day at the beach in Cannes

Lying on the beach has never been my thing, but there's just something about Cannes that's so relaxing.  This is a 'quick bikini cover up' outfit after a morning of sunshine on the sand.  Denim shorts are a must for me on holiday (this year's were Marks and Spencer), I've teamed them here with my Eiffel Tower t-shirt from Gap (a gift from my bestie, Natalie), my trusty Vivienne Westwood Melissa sandals (they've done three holidays so far!) and my Tiffany sunglasses once again.  The oversized basket bag was a creative masterpiece from my friend Miss K which she customised for me with my initials, and of course, French colours; it was a god send for my beach essentials and will definitely be travelling back to France with me next summer!

Outfit 3: A night in Cannes...

I'd say this outfit was very smart casual and was one of my favourites from this year's holiday.  Teaming Zara dress shorts (I wish I'd bought these in every colour!) with my Tommy Hilfiger shirt and Chanel-esque espadrilles (only mine were from Primark for £6!) I felt really relaxed yet still quite smart in this ensemble.

Outfit 4: A night in Cannes (part 2)...

This dress made its second holiday to the South of France this year, after being one of my firm favourites from my previous year's holiday.  It's from the Archive By Alexa collection that Alexa Chung did for Marks and Spencer, and I'll be so sad if it ever dies-I always feel amazing in it! Paired with those espadrilles again and my little Cavalli handbag, I was comfortable and cool, whilst still managing to feel chic.  Thank you Miss Alexa Chung!

Outfit 5: An island adventure...

On the Île Sainte-Marguerite, just off the coast of Cannes, I debuted my cute little Primark playsuit (which I think I paid £8 for!).  The island is all about exploring and nature, so trainers were the only way to go, but that little playsuit was worth every penny, and perfect for slipping on top of a bikini!

Now for some luxury...

Although I love luxury goods, I don't think I've quite reached the dizzy heights of being able to shop on Cannes', La Croissette just yet!  It is however, one of my favourite places to window shop, particularly on a evening so I thought I'd share my favourite shop windows with you from this year's adventure (if anyone wants to buy me the Gucci bag for Christmas, please feel free!).

Feeling summery yet? I hope you enjoyed this little snippet of my Cannes adventure...now for a hot chocolate to fight away the cold!

Until tomorrow!

Kay xx
