A new spring handbag with Garment Quarter...

Hello lovelies!

Regular readers of my little corner of the internet will know that I'm a sucker for a handbag.  There's something about Spring that always makes me want to break out the handbag brights in my collection; there's no better way to make a statement than with a real standout bag.  I'm a huge fan of Vivienne Westwood handbags and am lucky enough to have collected a few over of the years.

My harlequin-check bag and Anglomania shoulder bag (bottom left) are my favourite Spring/Summer options; but I always find myself hankering for something new this time of year.  If you're feeling the same, you need to check out Garment Quarter who have an amazing selection (here!).  Garment Quarter, with their flagship store in Bristol, offer luxury fashion for all under one roof, housing brands such as Paul Smith, Victoria Beckham as well as lots of Vivienne Westwood to choose from!  I know what you're thinking-but Kayleigh I don't live in Bristol-I don't either but they have an amazing selection online so you can shop from the comfort of your own home!  Here are some of my favourites from their amazing Vivienne Westwood handbag selection:

I've been lusting after the bunny bag forever and love that it comes in a variety of shapes and sizes, and I love the pink featured in the other two handbags; a perfect shade for Spring/Summer.

I need to really think about which I want to add to my collection or I may end up buying them all, but if you're looking for your first handbag purchase, or like me, you're lusting after some arm candy for Spring, than Garment Quarter is the place to go!

Which handbag is your favourite?

I was approached by Mediaworks to write this post, however all opinions are my own.  Garment Quarter is a great place to shop for that new statement piece :)

Doodle in your designers with Noodoll...

Hello lovelies!

Travelling home from a recent weekend break to Liverpool, I was flicking through Harper's Bazaar when I came across the most amazing notebook I'd ever laid eyes on (no, I'm not exaggerating!).    Introducing 'Noodoll', the brainchild of author and designer YiYing Wang.  Created during her time at Central St Martins, London, Noodoll offers stationery for big kids (and little ones too) as well as other amazing products such as toys and greetings cards.

It was the fashion range that first caught my eye, a collaboration with Clifford Richards.  Imagine a stylishly cool pocket-sized sketchbook featuring Gabrielle Chanel, or Vivienne Westwood and priced at just £5 each, I went to town and ordered both!

Ordered Sunday and in my hand by Tuesday was pretty impressive service!  I was also over the moon to receive some cute little Noodoll paper bags as a free gift!  Everything is so cutely packaged, with some of the Noodoll characters even being featured on the envelope!  There's nothing better than the delivery of a pretty envelope; it certainly beats a bill coming through the post!

Both Gabrielle and Vivienne are removable too, so they can be used as a little bookmark for your sketchbook or elsewhere.  I think the likeness of them has been captured perfectly-it's such a fun idea for a product.  There are lots of other sketchbooks to choose from in this range too, including artists such as Andy Warhol and Grayson Perry and other fashion legends like Twiggy, Karl Lagerfeld and Anna Wintour.

I'm so glad I discovered Noodoll, I don't think you're ever too old for fun stationery and what better way to celebrate that than with a couple of pint-sized designers!

You can check out the full Noodoll range here, let me know which is your favourite!

The Handbag Clinic at Aveika, Newcastle, with Scarlett Moffatt...

Hello lovelies!

A couple of Thursdays ago, I attended an event at Aveika in Newcastle which saw one lucky lady leave with a Mulberry handbag, all thanks to the lovely people at 'The Handbag Clinic' in Newcastle (read my previous post about the competition here).  THC teamed up with Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt and Capital Radio to offer the unique prize which saw a fair few handbag lovers flock to Aveika to see if they were the chosen one!

We were greeted by The Handbag Clinic's specially made Birkin!

Having not been to Aveika before, I have to say that I was really impressed with its interior, such an amazing venue for an event of this calibre.  VIP's, e.g. the competition finalists, were given the red carpet treatment upstairs where there was a DJ on hand to entertain as they indulged in free food and rubbed shoulders with Scarlett Moffatt and the rest of the Capital team.

I took my lovely niece Rachel with me, and we grabbed a drink and settled ourselves downstairs at the end of the runway for the best view of the handbags.  That's right, not only was there a great competition taking place, but The Handbag Clinic had also organised a runway show for guests in order to show off their latest collection of handbags on sale at their boutique on Mosley Street.  I love a good runway show and am always lusting after a new handbag so it was a win win!

And the winner is...? To the bit you've been waiting for, the evening's winner was none other than Lisa Guthrie, fellow blogger and star of Made in Tyne and Wear's 'Chatty Lasses'.  She guessed the closest retail price of three handbags and the resale price offered by The Handbag Clinic.  Well done Lisa!

Thanks to The Handbag Clinic and Recognition PR for inviting me along to review the event and for the PR images (starred).  You can visit The Handbag Clinic online here for all of your handbag TLC needs.  Also, next time you're in Newcastle, make sure you check out Aveika, for a cocktail or some fine Japanese cuisine.

Obsessed with #ArchiveByAlexa at Marks and Spencer...

#ArchiveByAlexa at Newcastle's Marks and Spencer

Hello you lovely people!

The highly observant of you will notice two things about this post; I've already posted about this collection before and I've been sharing these photos like crazy over social media.  I am absolutely OBSESSED with the Archive By Alexa collection and really hope that there'll be more in the future because frankly I don't think I can live without it.  I'm normally really sceptical about celebrity endorsements, but this one may as well have been called the 'clothes for Kayleigh Lindstedt collection' I've bought so much of it.  And it all started with a dress...

Yep, it all started with the Eliza dress.  This has been heavily featured in a couple of my posts-one dedicated to the collection and as an OOTD.   I still absolutely adore it.  It's perfect quality, a beautiful cut and super summery.  And yes, I suppose the print is a bit daring, but when it comes to clothes, I've never been a shrinking violet-I love brights.  Well worth the £45 price tag, after buying it, my eye began to wander to other beauties from the collection...

The next being the Elsie dress.  A little cheaper at £39.50, this one is perfect for both day and night.  I've dressed it up for a hen party and worn it shopping, and just like the Eliza it doesn't disappoint!  It's more of a skater dress this one and it hangs beautifully-the plus also being that it doesn't need ironing either-always a winner in my books.  Both practical and pretty, it's definitely a favourite of mine!

After that, I was still deliberating about buying the Harry blouse.  Inspired by the fashions favoured by Princess Diana and based on a Victorian pastry crust blouse-I was worried I might look a little, well, frilly! Even when I tried it on I wasn't sure.  My suggestion is to wear it casually rather than dressing it up too much-otherwise you might end up feeling a little overdone!  £35 for this one, and when paired with my jeans and pumps, it felt perfect for afternoon tea!

By this point, I thought I pretty much had everything that I wanted from the collection, until a fatal moment in Newcastle when my Mister told me to try on the Ada blazer.  I'd avoided it online as it looked rather boxy, but paired with the Elsie dress, it looked and felt amazing-it was love at first wear!!  £49.50 disappeared out of my bank account quicker than you can say 'Ada'-I'm a slave to a good jacket purchase!

I think by this point, I've finally completed my collection.  For someone who posts regularly about fashion, I don't buy a lot of clothes, so this collection felt heaven sent.  Quintessentally British, which is very much my style, I can't thank Alexa Chung or M & S enough for it.  I only hope there's plenty more to come!

Shop the full collection here and let me know what you think in the comments below!

Until next time,

The competition has been launched on air and will close on May 8th. The winner will be announced during a VIP evening at AVIEKA, on Newcastle’s Quayside, on May 12th.
Fifty finalists will be invited to the event, with a guest each, and the remaining two contestants will answer a ‘closest to’ question, with the winner taking home the prize.
Handbag Clinic will be hosting a fashion show on the night, featuring a number of its designer bags, as well as setting up a pop-up shop.

Dior Makeup Masterclass with Jamie Coombes at Jesmond Dene House...

Hello lovelies!

Sometimes you see stuff online that you know you really can't resist.  As a lover of both Dior (and of cake!) I was really excited to see that none other than amazing makeup artist to the stars, Jamie Coombes, would be visiting beautiful Jesmond Dene House for a designer Dior afternoon to share his tips of the trade.  Not only that, but JDH's delectable afternoon tea would be included in the price (a snip at £36 per person).  What's not to like about that?  I hurriedly got in touch and booked two places, knowing that my lovely VBF Natalie would be the perfect person to share it with (you can read about our last JDH adventure here).

Arriving at the beautiful venue, we were ushered to the entrance of the Great Hall, where we were greeted with a glass of Prosecco and led to a little waiting area whilst our tables were being set up.  The Dior girls were already milling around in their amazing 'I am Poison' bomber jackets, promotion for the new Dior fragrance 'Poison Girl', which Natalie and I were lusting after during the whole event (if anyone can blag us two 'Poison Girl' bombers in size small, we'd love you forever ;)).

Once our tables were ready, we studied the seating plan to find we were to be seated at the 'Miss Dior' table.  I loved that all of the tables were named after Dior fragrances and products, a real personal touch.  Each table was set out beautifully, with a goodie bag prepared for each of us, a Dior masterclass makeup card for us to make notes on our favourite products and every product that Jamie was about to use in his masterclass stacked in the centre of the table for us to try out.  We also had a Dior girl assigned to our table to answer any questions that we had about the products.

Once we were all seated, Jamie introduced himself and after choosing a volunteer, the Masterclass began almost immediately.  Creating an evening look built around a smoky-eye, he talked about each product in turn, giving immense detail to the benefits of each and explaining the best ways to apply them.  Everything that he was doing was projected onto a screen, making it really easy to follow wherever you were sat in the room.

Waxing lyrical about everything from cleanser to concealer, skin treatments and the finishing touches, it was really interesting to learn so much about Dior's amazing range of products.  Natalie and I were really excited about Dior 'Dreamskin Capture Totale', a serum light enough to wear under foundation, that not only moisturises but is also an age-defying treatment for your skin.  After trying it on our hands, our skin felt velvety smooth-I can only imagine how good it must feel on your face!  At £79 for 30ml however, it is a little pricey, but it's definitely one to add to the shopping list!  We also loved the amazing Eye Reviver palette, and after trying out my free samples I was quite impressed with the Lip Maximizer and the Dior Show mascara (I've since purchased this and I love it-the Dior girls in Debenhams, Sunderland are equally as lovely as those that were at the event!).

After the initial Backstage Pro Masterclass, Jamie then welcomed any questions from the room, moving on to help another lady learn some techniques on the best way to make her eyes appear more open.  Throughout the afternoon, Jamie and all of the Dior girls stuck around to answer any questions and to allow us to try and test the products, whilst recommending the best suited products to those who were unsure.  The whole Dior team were excellent; supportive and super-helpful and Jamie was absolutely brilliant.  He was so much fun and had such a warm personality, it was wonderful to hear him talk about products that he is obviously so passionate about.

After all the makeup play it was time for tea, and after spending our mornings running, we were both ravenous when it arrived!

As we both requested to not have smoked salmon sandwiches on our afternoon teas, we were brought an individual cake stand, rather than one to share, and everything was absolutely delicious.  The scone layer was our favourite; the scones were fresh and warm and as they were mini, we managed all three! The cakes were delicious too, my favourite being the passionfruit macaron-which had fruit stuffed in its based that oozed out when you took a bite-delicious!

I had an amazing Dior experience at Jesmond Dene House and want to thank both the JDH and Dior teams for their amazing service-I'd definitely go to another event-the whole experience was so much fun and it was a great day to share with my best friend.

Of course, I know that you're all wondering what was in the goodie bag right?  Wonder no more ;)
