Happy New Year and a few fashionable Birthday and Christmas gifts...

Happy New Year to my lovely readers!

Can you believe it's 2016??!! Where is the time going?!  I'm so glad to have another New Year ahead of me as I start to fill up my diary with fashion goodness.  But before we jump into 2016, I want to chat a little bit about some of the lovely Christmas and birthday gifts I was given; people were very generous and I loved them all! In this post however I'm going to concentrate on the fashion bits and pieces I received...

The brand new Macbook 12...

This present literally left me gobsmacked!  My lovely Mister bought me a Macbook as my present for turning the big 3-0 and the thought behind it really overwhelmed me.  He gave me it specifically for blogging and said it means I can spend more time doing the thing I love most wherever I am :).  For my actual job, I spend a lot of time planning lessons in our home office, so blogging in there never feels like much fun...so this way I can jot down those fashion musings on the go-he's definitely a keeper!

Some delectable French Connection shoes...

I have been coveting these shoes since summer.  Love is a strong word...but yes I love them.  So imagine my joy when opening my Christmas presents to find my Mister had bought them for me.  They are delicious (they're also super high! Sit down shoes anyone?)!  They're also now half price in the sale so get yourself over to French Connection and bag yourself a pair (here)!  You're welcome!

I should also point out that I got some Ugg slippers, for when the nights draw colder (and for when my feet hurt from the heels!!).

La Petite Fleur-Kelly Smith...

My best friend is better than yours-fact!  Every year she buys me the most thoughtful and beautiful gifts, as well as being the best friend I could ever wish for all year round.  This year however she excelled herself (I don't know how she does it!!).  You may remember that a while ago I took part in a day of Fashion Illustration at the Bowes Museum and I absolutely loved it.  My drawing style was compared to Kelly Smith's, and along with the Hess sisters, Kelly is one of my all time favourite fashion illustrators.  Natalie knew this, and bought me a print of one of Kelly's works.  It's number 23 of 50, a rarity and a piece of art that I'll cherish forever.  Not only does it feature the most beautiful Dior inspired dress, the lady is standing on top of the fashion holy grail; Vogue and Alexa Chung's 'It'.

AMAZING, right?!

Biscuits anyone...

She also got me these amazing 'Piped With Love' biscuits...inspired by some of my favourite things in  life (and they were seriously delicious gingerbread and cinnamon!).

I particularly liked the one of Jay-Jay...how cute?!

And lots of other knick-knacks...

I loved all of my presents from Natalie...especially my Pandora ring which reminds me so much of a Chanel Camilia Rose.

The ring...in the middle of the picture, along with some other lovely goodies...thanks bestie!

Move over Carrie...

As regular readers will know, I love Carrie Bradshaw.  Like borderline obsession.  Whilst I am aware that she's a fictitious character and that there's no way she could feed that luxury lifestyle on her column earnings alone, I think every girl longs for a bit of Carrie in their own lives.  Mine this birthday came as a complete surprise...

That's right, my lovely friend June got me a 'Kayleigh' necklace!!! June too has a name necklace which I've often admired, so I couldn't quite believe it when I opened it to discover one of my very own!  So much love for June and this super chic present!!

Presents from Mama L...

My lovely Mam always buys the best gifts!  The fashionable ones this year were of course the Naked Smoky Palette, a beautiful Barbie fashion illustration calendar which now hangs pride of place in my office and another lovely little fashion book to add to my ever growing collection.  She knows me so well!!

Some other bits and pieces...

I got this amazing cushion (which matches my living room decor perfectly!) from my friend Hannah. And Jen knows me so well with the little book of Chanel (she also got my a really cool tartan cross body bag!).  The other book is the one I've already mentioned that dear Mama L bought me-I love my designers!  I also got the Vogue colouring book-it's amazing-buy it, buy it, buy it!!

I got so many amazing presents from everyone, but if I featured them all here it would take until next Christmas (which is why I wanted to keep things fashion specific)!  I'm so grateful to everyone that took the time to buy me something-it's so nice to be thought of!  Thank you!

Happy 2016 everyone!
