PFW: Chanel Airlines, the most glamorous airport on Earth...

Hello lovelies!

I watched a lot of Paris Fashion week this season and was in awe of what I saw.  I loved the futuristic elements at Louis Vuitton and the continuation of 'Mirror the World' at Vivienne Westwood's Gold Label, but as always there was one house that really stole the show once again.  That's right, I'm talking Chanel.

Picture the scene (I'm sure you already have; social media went into a frenzy post-show!) the glorious Grand Palais transformed into an airport with real-life check in desks, seating areas and baggage drops.  But this wasn't just any old airport, this was an airport with interlocking C's...welcome to Chanel Airlines.

Again, Karl Lagerfeld left me in complete awe as I watched the models parade around the makeshift airport.  So cleverly constructed was the set, that I often forgot I was watching a new collection and simply felt like I was overseeing a day at the world's most glamorous airport!  Of course it is the clothing that holds the greatest importance here, so on that note, I want to talk about my favourite looks from the show.

First of all I should point out that the whole collection was very futuristic and forward thinking, as Karl's work often is.  Yet there's always that hint of Gabrielle Chanel in the cut, the boucle and the detail.  At Chanel, the devil is always in the detail.  The clean, shiny, clinical, machine like airport feel was certainly reflected in the clothing too; sometimes in quite a tongue-in-cheek way.  Most importantly though, SS16 felt very wearable yet elegant and the palette was bold and bright and very fun!

Look 11
I loved the colour palette of this look.  The skirt suit is elegantly cut, but I love the homage to the  futuristic airport feel with the silver gloves and shoes.

Look 20
A simple choice with this one, I just love the ensemble-perfection!

Look 22
This look (probably minus cap for me!) is totally wearable.  I love the busy pattern, it would be amazing dressed up or down-watch this space for similar high street versions!!

Look 28
I LOVED this look because it is so much fun!  The aeroplane print is wacky but perfectly in keeping with the theme.  I'd definitely wear the jumper!

Look 37

Look 41
I chose looks 37 and 41 as they felt very classically Chanel.  I think Gabrielle would approve of their elegance (and I approve of the handbags!).

Look 44
A forward-thinking and fun twist of a classic Chanel look.

Look 48
Again chosen for the cut, I also loved the red, white and blue theme.

Look 55
The colours are amazing on this flowing gown-this dress would be perfect for a trip to the French Riviera!

Look 58
Quite possibly my favourite look from the collection; I love the cut and how it feels very in keeping with the left-bank luxe style currently on trend this Autumn.

Look 69
I thought this was a really playful look-I love the structure and the use of colour against a plain white backdrop.

Look 81
Very wearable, I am a huge fan of the peplum top!

Look 84
Love the cut, love the bag-what more can I say?

If you haven't done so already, you can watch the full show here.  I'd love to hear which were your favourite looks from the collection!
