POPABALL: The pop-up bubble teabar at Fenwick...

Hello lovelies!

Leading on from my last post, Chloe and I were invited to go and review Newcastle's newest pop-up bubble tea venue straight after our Hillary's Craft day!  After all that sewing and concentrating we were definitely in need of a tasty pick me up, and Popaball was just the place to provide it!

PopaBall is the latest brain child from the lovely Jules Quinn, the lady behind the massively successful TeaShed.  I'd never had a bubble tea before but knew that it was hugely popular in the world of social media.  Traditionally an Asian beverage, Jules has taken the idea and turned it on its head, creating fruity bubbles perfect for Prosecco, cocktails or simply to add to your favourite dessert.  She's also managed to get them packaged up for purchase so you can take the bubble tea experience home with you!

For my first Bubble Tea experience, I ordered a 'Skinny Mini', a sparkling water and lemon drink with apple and lychee bubbles.  The bubbles float in the drink and once in your mouth pop to give an amazing burst of fruity flavour!  The sensation is unusual but the taste is unbelievable!  I'd quickly finished my drink but spent ages sucking up all of the bubbles through my special chunky straw and  popping them in my mouth!!  The bubbles come in five different flavours; green apple, blueberry, lychee, apple and raspberry so there's definitely one to suit every palette.  Each drink chosen from the menu recommends which bubbles to use, but Jules isn't strict with this so if you find yourself wanting to try another flavour bubble, all you have to do is ask!  There are also samples for you to try before you buy, a really fun way to introduce you to bubble tea.

My skinny mini!

The pop-up bar is fun and fabulous with a young and fresh feel.  I loved the pink flamingos, and the addition of French fancies and flying saucer sweets given to complement the bubbly drinks.

So the next time you find yourself in Fenwick's Food Hall, why don't you try out a fab bubble tea?  The bar is open Thursday to Saturday but hurry, it'll only be around until the end of April!  Alternatively you can order some bubbles here to try at home!  I bought some Raspberry bubbles and can't wait to try them in the Champagne I have from my birthday!

Thanks to Jules for inviting us to review and for the complementary drink! All my opinions are honest, I love Popaball and I'm sure you will too!
