Lovely Leeds for a VBF birthday celebration...

This year for my lovely VBF's early birthday celebrations, we decided to have a break from London life and stay a bit closer to home with a shopping trip to Leeds.  I know I've talked about Leeds before on my blog, but I just love it so much! The shops are amazing and there's so much to do!  It's the perfect place for a fashionista, and as an added bonus this time, the weather was amazing!

 #Selfie on the train!!

We started the day off with a bang with a few cheeky purchases in Victoria's Secret (in the swanky new Trinity Centre), because it would be rude not to really! We then headed to the Victoria Quarter for a browse around Louis Vuitton, Vivienne Westood, Jo Malone and Micheal Kors where I basically could've spent a small fortune!

For lunch, we had a quick bite at Pret, which we quite often do.  Even when we're little old ladies, I think we'll still be sharing a tuna baguette and a packet of crisps at Pret!!  We then went on to browse some more, with a look around Harvey Nichols, then on to Debenhams where we made our Chanel purchases (oh yes!...I'll come back to this later!).  Shopping is thirsty work, and the weather was really bright and humid, so we decided to test drive the Harvey Nichols roof terrace bar, to refuel our shopping energy with a leg rest and some gorgeous mocktails!  The roof terrace is quite a new addition to the department store, so it was the first time we'd tried it.  It's quite small, but on a glorious day I'd really recommend it! Our mocktails were quite reasonable too at £3.50 each (although you are expected to pay a small service charge) and they were so refreshing and absolutely delicious! We were quite lucky too, as just as we sat down with our drinks there was a Miner's march taking place below, which meant we could watch it pass by without being caught up in the hustle and bustle along Briggate.

Squinty eyes as the sky was so bright! But here we are enjoying our drinks!

Rather than having a heavy lunch, we decided to have an early dinner at Zizzi.  So after a few more shops and some sweetie purchases at 'Bon Bons' (one of the best sweet shops in the world!), we set off to try and find the restaurant.  On the way we found the Leeds Corn Exchange, which is a really impressive little building filled with vintage shops and other quirky little gems! There was even a street dance class taking place inside.

Beautiful architecture and street dance!
Our favourite part of the Corn Exchange however, was the inappropriate greeting's card shop...I literally don't think I've ever laughed so much!! It's definitely worth a visit, just for the crude greetings!

After giggling like school girls we'd certainly worked up an appetite, so headed to Zizzi for dinner.  The food was delicious, and the restaurant was pretty and spacious.  We love Zizzi, but this is one of the best I have ever visited, a great little way to round off the day!

After our food, it was pretty much time for us to head back home, but not before another trip to Victoria's Secret, just in case there was anything we'd missed the first time!  If shopping was a international sport, I definitely think we could represent England quite easily :).

Matching Chanel bags on Bertie's dashboard!
Oh yeah, the Chanel purchases!  I got myself the new Les Beiges All-In-One Healthy Glow Fluid in Number 10 (I honestly don't know how I lived without it!) and Natalie got a gorgeous foundation.  Always loving a little taste of Chanel!  I also got 5 pairs of VS knickers for £20, a VS 'Sparkling Citrus Citrus Dream' Fragrance Mist in grapefruit and red lily (smells divine and was half price at £5.50), some sweets and a Kate Moss Lipstick (number 16 a perfect summery Coral shade).

Oh and I almost forgot...I also bought a gorgeous present for the handsome man in my life...what do you think?

We had such an amazing time, can't wait for the next one!

There used to be the most amazing little bistro in the Corn Exchange, I had a fantastic brunch there once but it appears they've closed it :(

I definitely need to try the Harvey Nichols roof! I'm there in 3 weeks :D

  2. He's a super pooch haha! It's a shame about the bistro, I really liked the corn exchange building it's so pretty inside. They recommend you book the roof terrace but we didn't and got a table just fine! Hope you get a chance to try it :) xx
