To all my lovely readers...

Hello lovelies!

How've you been??

Please don't think I've forgotten about my little blog, I am having the most hectic time at work at the moment so can never find a minute to post (this makes me very sad, I love my job but very much miss my blog!!). All being well, normal service should resume in about a fortnight but I'll post before then if I can...please be patient with me :). In the mean time, looking forward to seeing my North East blogging lovelies at my #scoutshonour event on July 17th :)

Still dreaming of Coco...

Blog event alert!! #scoutshonour

Hello lovelies!

A short and sweet post today calling all North East Bloggers! I am organising an event with my lovely friend Angela from Scout Vintage and hoping you will all be able to come along! If you haven't been to Scout Vintage before read all about it here! The event will be held on Thursday 17th July, at Scout Vintage on Frederick Street in Sunderland town centre, from 6-9pm. There'll be dressing up, we're hoping to involve a makeup artist and I'd also like to get someone to do hair (if anyone knows of anyone who'd be up for it please let me know!). There'll definitely be some drinks and nibbles of some description and hopefully goodie bags once we have an idea of numbers. I've never organised an event like this before but I'll be doing my upmost to make sure it's one to remember :)

If you're interested and would like to come along, please drop me a comment and leave your email address just so I can add you to the confirmed list and I'll keep you updated as we go! Alternatively if you'd prefer, you can reach me at  If you want to tweet about the event, please use #scoutshonour, just so I can keep up to date with any questions etc.

Thanks lovelies,

Kayleigh x

Anya Hindmarch...'Out Of This World' event

I was invited to an event at Cruise, Newcastle last week, which was used to promote the launch of Anya Hindmarch's new SS'14 collection in the store.  Here's what I wore...

Jacket: H 'n' M, Selfie Tee: £20 French Connection, Skirt: Miss Selfridge

Never a one to miss out on an opportunity to catch up with some of my favourite blogging lovelies, I also told Chloe, Lisa and Emma about the event, so we all met up and went along together.  At Cruise, we were greeted with as much lovely bubbly pink champagne as we could drink (and mango and orange juice for us drivers!) and then pointed in the direction of the new collection.

Now obviously the fashionista in me would've loved to have whipped out my plastic and snapped up one of those bad boys, but I've got a holiday to save up for.  Although if I could've picked any I would've picked the planet tote as it was really kooky and looked unusual and effective.  If you've got some spare cash you can get your hands on one right here!  I actually really like the clutches from this line too, but I won't be greedy!  Cruise were also running a promotion where if you bought a bag in store you received a free tassel (worth £150!!) but to be honest, they reminded me of Mama L's curtain tie-backs at home, so I think I would've politely declined...each to their own I guess!

As part of the event, there was a huge Tardis-like portal which we later found out was the 'What Planet Are You On?' generator.  Emma and I were first to venture over and take a closer look.  To use the generator, I had to put my name and date of birth into an Ipad, then a capsule popped out containing loads of cool and interesting facts like what my ruling planet is, what song was number one the day I was born and the date I was conceived (YUCK at the last one by the way!).  I also got a lollipop with Saturn inside, as that is my ruling planet.  We all took turns at the generator and had such a giggle sharing the weird and wonderful facts.  Anya first used the generator as part of the runway show for this SS'14 collection as a way of giving her guests a gift to remember the evening and as it was so successful she decided to roll it out at all of her events.  It was definitely my favourite part of the launch, and I've since read mine out to anyone that'd listen!!  Obviously you don't get the capsule (or the lollipop!) but if you want to use the generator you can do so here!

By this point, even though we'd had fun, we'd pretty much seen and done everything that there was to do at the event so we decided we'd make a swift exit and do some last minute shopping before the stores closed at 8pm.  Although before we left, I made sure to take a few snaps of some of the other high-end collections available in the store...

Vivienne Westwood

 Just Cavalli...

 Michael Kors (Jacket)

 Gorgeous Louboutin's..

 Victoria Beckham...

Louboutin bags and YSL (I LOVE this YSL bag!!)

As I'm not suitably loaded, my only purchase of the evening was a pretty summery shift dress from Primark, but hey a girl can dream after all!

Primark £13

Until next time lovelies...

North East Tea Party...#northeastteaparty

Hello my lovelies..sorry I've been neglectful of my blog once again! Work has been pretty hectic of late, but ta-dah, I'm finally here to write up some lovely little blog posts! How've you been?

Last Sunday, I was invited to a little blog event organised by two fellow northeast bloggers, the lovely Danni and Kloe.  It was at Walkabout in Middlesbrough and we were told to do one main thing, bring cake.  For anyone who's not on the northeast scene, I'm yet to meet a blogger from our neck of the woods who doesn't like fact I'd go as far to say that many a friendship has been formed over a slice of icing-sugary goodness.  We'd even go to the opening of an envelope if it involved cake, so needless to say, I was in.  For my cakey contribution, I made chocolate marble cake...but foolishly forgot to take a picture of it (doh!), and then set off with my cake tin to meet Lisa on the train.

We arrived a little late to the event, but when we got there, we spotted loads of lovely northeast bloggers...and sooo much cake!

Lovely bloggers unite!
Kloe (eating cake) and Danni (far-right stood up) who organised the day

Nicola and Steph
We sat with Chloe who introduced me to Caroline, and I also chatted to Steph, who made the most amazing cornflake cake!  I also met the lovely Cate (whose After Eight biscuits were to die for) Nicola and Kelly.  I couldn't remember which cake belonged to which person, but everything I had was absolutely amazing, I'm just sad that I didn't have room left to try everything! (also, to anyone reading this that I've forgotten to mention, I loved speaking to you all honestly...I'm just rubbish with names!!!) Special mention also goes to my new twitter friend Lou Duffy, who couldn't make the event but sent her superhero boyfriend to the party with the best carrot and walnut (I think!) cakes I have ever in my mouth!  I'm so glad my Mister doesn't make cakes that good...I swear I'd be the size of a house within a month!

Lou's dream cakes!
Steph's Cornflakey goodness!
The company was great, the raffle prizes were cute, and the goodie bags were unbelievable! I was so excited to receive some Lush stuff, and the cutest little piece of jewellery ever (which I'll save for an OOTD post this space!).  So thanks to Danni and Kloe for organising such wonderful treats for us!

Amazing goodies!

Heaps of praise go to Danni and Kloe for making the day such a success! My Mister also wants to say a special thanks to all the cake-baking bloggers that made his packed-lunch so interesting this week! Such a good day had by all.  Also wanted to say I'm sorry if some of the photos were unflattering to any of you ladies, I was snapping away as best I could so apologies if I caught any of you in a bad're all beautiful anyways!  As usual, I was hopeless at getting a photo of me and my best blogging buddies, but Chloe managed to get a great one and has kindly let me borrow it (thanks lovely!), next time I must snap more and eat less!!!

Chloe, me and Lisa

A great event and amazing cake, thanks to all!

May Birchbox: Harper's Bazaar edition, review...

I've been subscribing to Birchbox for quite a while now, but the May box has been my favourite so far, I loved everything that was in it!  As you can probably tell from the pictures it was Harper's Bazaar themed, and there was also an offer included in the box for a reduced subscription to the magazine, 12 issues for £12! Bargain!  Here's a quick review of this month's products:

1 'They're Real' Mascara by Benefit, £19

I hadn't tried this mascara before, but I've totally fallen in love with it, it pretty much does what it says on the tin (or in this case box!).  I plan on buying a full-size version when I get my Benefit makeover at the end of June, but for now the trial size will do, and it's a perfect fit for my handbag!

2 Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, £13.25

OMG! I cannot get enough of this product.  I'd heard of Liz Earle before but hadn't tried any products.  But this is worth breaking your Liz Earle virginity for!  You simply apply the cleanser to your face, then run the cloth under a hot tap and rub it all over your face to remove your makeup...and boy does it work! I couldn't believe how fresh my skin looked afterwards too! I've been using it pretty much every day and my skin feels so much smoother, it's unbelievable! Thumbs up to Liz Earle, will definitely be repurchasing this!

3 Beauty Protect Shampoo and Conditioner, £14 each

I feel like I am always searching for a good shampoo and conditioner, but because I have quite a sensitive scalp after a few washes everything seems to make my head itch! I was really surprised with how good Beauty Protect shampoo and conditioner is, how gentle it is on your scalp, and how long lasting the fragrance of it stayed on my hair.  As you can see from the bottle, it claims to do a lot for your hair, and I did feel a massive difference to mine even from the first wash.  However, for the amount of times I wash my hair, £28 for the set does seem a bit excessive, maybe when I'm rich...

4 Soigne Nail Lacquer, Creme au Beurre, £11

I'm always impressed when I get a full size product in my Birchbox, so was really pleased to receive this beautiful nail polish.  The directions were to start with a base coat and follow with two coats of Soigne, followed by a top coat...and you definitely have to because it chips like crazy! I finished mine off with a top coat of Butter London glitter nail Lacquer, and without that I don't think it would've lasted a day!  I got a really pretty shade which is great for free, but I don't think I'll be repurchasing this, I've had Rimmel polishes that have lasted much longer, for half of the price!

5 Aromatherapy Associates Revive Morning Bath and Shower Oil, £39

Being a worshipper of all things Lush, I have to confess I've not yet tried this product so it would be unfair to judge it without fair trial.  It claims to beat that sluggish morning feeling, which I have in spades this morning from my 5k run yesterday, so I'm going to pop it in my shower today and give it a separate review (I'll post back here when it's done!).  All I can say for now is that it smells devine!

The Verdict
My favourite products this month were definitely the shampoo and conditioner, the Liz Earle cleanser and the Benefit mascara.  I'm definitely going to buy the mascara and the cleanser sometime in the near future.  On the whole, to get a box for £12.95 a month and receive 3 products you absolutely love, but to want to try all five, is a testament to how good Birchbox really is, so if you've been sitting on the fence about ordering a Birchbox subscription I'd really recommend it.  You can purchase all of the products in this post from the Birchbox website here.

Do you receive Birchbox each month?
What were your favourites from the May box?
