Fashion North-The Launch...

Last night, I was fortunate enough to be invited to the launch of new North-East website, Fashion North by the lovely Angela at Scout Vintage, to be one of her guests for the evening.  If you haven't checked out Angela's store yet, where have you been? You can read all about it here in one of my earlier posts.  Anyway, Fashion North has been created by Fashion Journalism students from the University of Sunderland and covers everything from Fashion events to Careers and Style really is a fashionable little gem!

The evening began with a complimentary glass of bubbly, always a great way to win fashion lovers over ha!  The room was decked out beautifully, only made better by the lovely interior of the "Bonded Warehouse", with its exposed brickwork and beams.  We managed to bag ourselves front row seats, and after a short presentation from the Fashion North team (and ploughing our way through all of the lovely sugary goodness provided by the hosts!) the runway show began! And first up was Scout...whoo!

Beautiful tables and lots of sugar <3

Music was provided by Cohesion-fantastic!

The Runway show...Scout Vintage

Now as a guest of Angela from Scout, you'll have to forgive me for being a teensy bit biased, but I thought the clothes looked amazing on the runway! I think the pink dress is absolutely gorgeous, and the detailing on the cream simply beautiful.  I think my favourite was the white mini pretty and teamed up perfectly with the white Burberry coat.  Perfection!

Port Independent have recently opened a vintage store in Sunderland City Centre, and here were their  offerings for the evening.  Their vintage reminds me more of urban and edgy street wear.  I've not yet visited the store, but if you want to know more about them and see what they have to offer, click the heading!

Pussydoll Palace have three stores in the North-East, and sell everything from hairpieces to evening wear.  One of their stores sits right next door to Port Independent in Sunderland.  I loved the tartan skirt, but I am a huge tartan fan! I blame Dame Viv!!

Fyah Apparel were a brand that I hadn't heard of prior to the event. Their main emphasis is streetwear.  I really loved the letter-man style jacket they had on enough; maybe a really cool Christmas present for that man in your life? It certainly looked the part on the runway!

The runway show's penultimate looks were provided by New Look.  I haven't popped into New Look for an age or so it seems, so it was really nice to see some of their autumn/winter stock on the runway.  My personal favourite was the gold sparkly dress, perfect for any Christmas party, but I also loved the cut and colour of the berry skater dress too.  Great stuff new Look!

And finally, I was really excited to discover that Van Mildert would be closing the event.  I have a lasting love affair with Van Mildert (if only I was richer *sigh*) and was overjoyed to hear that some Vivienne Westwood would be paraded down the runway!  It really was the perfect end to a great little event!

How stunning is this dress?

So a big thank you has to go out to Fashion North for creating such a great little evening for us all, and for putting some great clothes down the runway!  I really did enjoy it, and hope to attend many more like this, credit to you all! Thanks also to Angela for inviting me along and giving me something fabulous to blog about, and also to Janet, Adam, Emily and Mayzin for being such fantastic company!  Hope to see you all again soon!

If you want to check out Fashion North for yourselves, you can do right here! You won't regret it!

Until next time my lovely fashionistas :)
